Gatorland Orlando: tickets, shows and how to add an airboat ride

Gatorland ticket prices for 2026, the packages and add-ons worth paying for, the daily show schedule, and how to pair Gatorland with a Boggy Creek airboat ride.

Updated November 2026

The giant alligator-mouth entrance gate at Gatorland Orlando, framed by palm trees

Gatorland is still the cheapest wildlife half day near the Orlando parks: gate admission is $34.99 for adults and $24.99 for kids 3 to 12, $3 less when you buy online, children 2 and under go free, parking is free, and all three live shows are included. Gatorland has no airboats of its own, so if you want one, pair it with Boggy Creek on a combo ticket. The skip-the-line ticket’s date picker is just below.

Gatorland at a glance

Gatorland is a 110-acre, family-owned alligator park and wildlife preserve on South Orange Blossom Trail, between Orlando and Kissimmee. It opens every day from 10 AM to 5 PM, rain or shine, and parking is free.

  • Cost: $34.99 adult and $24.99 child (3 to 12) at the gate, $3 off online, children 2 and under free.
  • Time needed: 3 to 4 hours for most families. Add-ons can stretch it to a full day.
  • Don’t miss: Gator Jumparoo (11:30 AM and 4:30 PM), the White Gator Swamp, and the Breeding Marsh boardwalk and observation tower.
  • Skip unless you love it: paying for every feeding and photo station one at a time. Bundle them instead.
  • Airboats: not at Gatorland. Pair it with Boggy Creek, 15 to 20 minutes away, on a combo ticket.
  • Best for: ages 3 to 12, animal-mad kids, grandparents, and a cheap rest day between theme parks. Our Gatorland with kids page goes through what each age gets out of it.

What Gatorland is, and who it suits

Gatorland is Orlando’s oldest continuously operating attraction, part zoo and part Old Florida theme park, and it bills itself as the “Alligator Capital of the World.” It opened as a roadside stop in 1949. Owen Godwin’s wife Pearl sold gator souvenirs from her kitchen, and the park’s restaurant still carries her name. Today it holds over 2,000 American alligators, rare white (leucistic) gators with blue eyes, crocodiles, Florida panthers, bobcats, capybaras, an aviary and a petting farm.

Who’ll love it: kids 3 to 12, especially animal-obsessed ones, families who want a cheaper, slower day between Disney and Universal, grandparents, and anyone nostalgic for pre-Disney Florida. If you want a rest day that costs nothing at all, see our free things to do in Orlando.

Who might not: families expecting rides and polish (there is one small train), teens who aren’t into animals unless you add the zip line, and anyone who hates being upsold on feeding and photos.

What reviewers say: the base ticket is good value. The shows are entertaining, the staff know their animals, and covered walkways with fans help in the heat. The main 2026 complaint on TripAdvisor is the add-on charges. One family wrote that feeding “any of the animals… came with a fee of $5 to $20,” and others called the photo packages pricey. Go in with a set add-on budget, or buy the Greater Gator Package, and the charges are less likely to sour the day.

Conservation

Gatorland says it created Gatorland Global in 2018 “to provide a dedicated conservation program for Gatorland,” with a mission to “Protect, Conserve, and Educate.” It became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in January 2025 (ClickOrlando), and gatorlandglobal.org reports raising $242,000 since 2021. The park’s Florida panther siblings, Yuma and Sakari, arrived in April 2023 as five-month-old cubs from a sanctuary in the northeastern U.S., weighing “around 20 lbs.” Mark McHugh, Gatorland’s President and CEO, said in the April 2023 release that Florida panthers are endangered, “with a small population of only about 200 in our state.” The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission estimates “approximately 120-230 adult panthers.” The Breeding Marsh is also a wild-bird rookery that draws photographers every spring.

Does Gatorland have airboat rides?

No. Gatorland does not run airboats. Its 2026 experiences are the zip line, Croc Rock, Gator Gauntlet, Stompin’ Gator Off-Road, the shows, Adventure Hour, Night Shine, Trainer-for-a-Day and the barnyard. The closest thing inside the park is the Stompin’ Gator swamp buggy, which splashes through a pond full of gators.

To get both, pair Gatorland with Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures, 15 to 20 minutes away:

OptionPrice (from)What you get
From Orlando: Airboat Tour & Gatorland with Hotel Pickup$14930-minute Boggy Creek ride + Gatorland admission + round-trip transport; about 7 hours; 4.6/5 from only 16 reviews
Go City Explorer Pass, 2 attractions$64Gatorland and Boggy Creek both count as choices; you drive yourself
Boggy Creek 30-minute ride, bought direct, plus a Gatorland ticket$36 adult / $30–$33 child, plus admission2001 E. Southport Rd, Kissimmee; Boggy Creek’s FAQ says its airboats “can go up to 45 mph,” though it prefers slower speeds for safety and wildlife

Which to book: with a car, the self-drive route (Go City or two separate tickets) costs well under half of the $149 tour. The $149 airboat and Gatorland day suits families without a rental car, though one reviewer found “4 hours at Gatorland was too long,” and with 16 reviews it has a short track record. Boggy Creek’s FAQ says the 30-minute rides are “the only rides that don’t require a reservation… first come, first served,” and asks guests to arrive 30 minutes before they want to ride. Busy days can still mean waits: one August 2026 reviewer waited over 2 hours, so go early.

Our Orlando airboat tours with kids page compares the airboat operators.

Gatorland show times and attractions

All three shows are included with admission and run about 15 to 20 minutes each. This is Gatorland’s 2026 schedule, as listed on its Shows page on November 3, 2026 (subject to change, weather permitting):

What to pay for and what to skip

  • Pay for: both Jumparoo shows if you can, the Gatorland flashlight tour at night (4.9/5 from 38 reviews, from $27), the zip line for keen kids over 37 inches, Adventure Hour for gator-obsessed kids, and the Capybara Encounter (reviewers call it “well worth it” but warn it’s short).
  • Maybe: Stompin’ Gator. Little kids love the monster truck, but one 2026 reviewer called it “money poorly spent.”
  • Skip: individual photo prints at every station. Bring your own camera; Gatorland allows your own photos.

Our Gatorland with kids page covers which of these suit a 3-, 7- or 14-year-old, the zip-line rules for younger riders and how late the night tour runs for small children.

Can you hold a baby alligator?

Yes, but it’s a paid, supervised encounter, and Gatorland doesn’t publish the price online. One September 2026 TripAdvisor reviewer reported paying $65 before photos. The cheaper hands-on option is Meet-A-Gator ($12 value, included in the Greater Gator Package), where you sit on an adult gator in the arena. Trainer-for-a-Day ($129.99, ages 12+) includes holding a baby gator, and so does the Orlando: Gatorland Interactive Tour with Animal Trainer (from $138, 5.0/5 from just 9 reviews, so a small sample).

Seasonal events

  • Gators, Ghosts & Goblins: the 2026 Halloween event ran on October weekends, 10 AM to 5 PM, included with admission, with trick-or-treating, a costume parade and the Cryptid Express train.
  • Holiday Ho, Ho, Ho-Down: December 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20, 2026, with holiday music, décor and characters.
  • Gatorpalooza (the park’s birthday): late May (May 30–31 in 2026).

Opening hours and the best time to visit

Gatorland is open every day from 10 AM to 5 PM, rain or shine, including holidays.

  • Best time of day: arrive at 10 AM. You’ll catch Up Close Encounters at 10:45 and Jumparoo at 11:30, then eat lunch before Legends at 12:30. You can be done by 2 PM, or stay for the 4:30 Jumparoo.
  • Best season: October to April for comfortable walking temperatures. Gators are more active and hungrier in warm weather, so summer jump shows are often livelier, but bring water and plan for afternoon storms.
  • Crowds: Gatorland is rarely crowded, so lines aren’t a factor. Halloween weekends are the busiest.
  • Rain: the park stays open, and many walkways and the Legends stadium are covered. Shows, the zip line and the splash park pause for lightning. Zip-line rainouts get a rain check valid for one year.

Getting there

Gatorland sits on US-441 (S. Orange Blossom Trail), just north of the Osceola County line. Parking is free.

  • Rideshare: Uber and Lyft both work. Expect roughly $25 to $40 each way from Disney or I-Drive, more with surge pricing.
  • No public shuttle runs from the theme parks. The airboat-and-Gatorland tour above is the only package with hotel pickup we found. If you are still choosing a base, our best family hotels in Orlando guide compares the Disney, Kissimmee and I-Drive areas.

Food at Gatorland

You can’t bring outside food (Gatorland’s rules ban “food of any kind” and coolers), so budget about $15 per person for lunch.

Item (Pearl’s Good Eats)Price
“Gatorland Famous” Gator Bite Basket (4 fried gator bites, fries, slaw, Gator Sauce)$16.99
All-American Cheeseburger$11.99
Pulled Pork Sandwich (house-smoked)$11.99
Grilled or Crispy Chicken Sandwich$11.99
Loaded Fries$8.99
  • Try the gator bites. No, they’re not Gatorland’s own gators. If your kids balk, the chicken sandwich is a safe bet.
  • Other options: the Snack Bar (covered seating next to gator pools), a Coffee Shop, the Gator Gully General Store, and the Guzzlin’ Gator beverage barn with a house lager.
  • Tip: buy a refillable cup. One reviewer said refills were “under $1.”

Practical tips for families

  • Strollers: all areas are accessible. Rentals cost $11 single or $16 double, or bring your own.
  • Accessibility: wheelchairs rent for $11 and ECVs for $30. The Gator Gauntlet is a wheelchair-accessible zip line. A June 2026 reviewer praised the staff for how they treated her autistic son.
  • Sensory notes: the Legends and Jumparoo shows have loud splashes and crowd cheering, and Up Close Encounters features snakes and spiders. Sit near an aisle if you might need to step out.
  • What to wear: closed-toe shoes (required for the zip line and Croc Rock, and no skirts on those), a hat, sunscreen and bug spray. Pack a towel and swimsuit for Gator Gully.
  • Bags: all bags are subject to search, and luggage must be checked at admissions. No drones.
  • Kids: under-16s must be with someone 16 or older.
  • Feeding: only Gatorland’s own feed is allowed. Never feed animals human food.

  • Three fun shows included
  • Rare white gators, panthers and capybaras
  • Rarely crowded, with covered walkways
  • Open 365 days, rain or shine
  • Unusual add-ons (zip line, night tour)

Cons

  • Constant upsells for feeding, photos and encounters
  • Dated in places, with one small train and no rides
  • No outside food allowed
  • No airboats on site
  • Hot and humid from May to September
  • Baby-gator photo pricing is not published

Our verdict

Gatorland is worth it for nearly every family with kids aged 3 to 12. Buy tickets online direct, or on GetYourGuide if you want free cancellation, arrive at 10 AM, plan around Jumparoo, and set an add-on budget before you walk in. Teens who find the park young will want the Gatorland zip line with full-day park access ($75, 4.8/5 from 98 reviews). If an airboat ride is a must, book the Boggy Creek pairing; there are no “Gatorland airboats” to find.
