Riders on a blue-track family roller coaster at LEGOLAND Florida

If you can visit only one Orlando theme park with kids under 10, make it Magic Kingdom. If your kids are 10 or older, make it Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Toddlers and preschoolers get more rides per hour at LEGOLAND Florida and Peppa Pig Theme Park, coaster-mad teens should add Epic Universe and SeaWorld, and families on a budget get the most park for the money at SeaWorld, where online tickets start at $59.99. GetYourGuide does not sell Disney, Universal or SeaWorld tickets, so the date picker below is for LEGOLAND Florida + SEA LIFE, the one big park day you can book here with free cancellation.

Orlando’s theme parks at a glance

  • Best overall for young kids (3 to 9): Magic Kingdom. Best value for ages 2 to 10: LEGOLAND Florida. Best for toddlers on a budget: Peppa Pig Theme Park.
  • Best for tweens, teens and thrill-seekers: Islands of Adventure (VelociCoaster, Hagrid’s), then Epic Universe (Stardust Racers, Super Nintendo World) and SeaWorld (Mako, Pipeline, Kraken).
  • Cheapest major park: SeaWorld Orlando, from $59.99 online on seaworld.com. The most expensive is Disney, with one-day tickets reported at $119 to $229 after the October 2026 price change, plus parking and optional Lightning Lane.
  • How many parks per trip: One park per day, with a rest or pool day after every two or three park days. Five park days covers Disney’s two biggest parks plus Universal’s two original parks.
  • Big closures right now: Volcano Bay is closed from October 26, 2026 until “on or before April 1, 2027.” Typhoon Lagoon has been closed since September 9, 2026, so Blizzard Beach is Disney’s only open water park. Jurassic Park River Adventure is due back on December 17, 2026.

Disney and Universal price every ticket by date, and the Disney and Universal figures on this page are as reported by local news and ticket trackers in October 2026. Check disneyworld.com and universalorlando.com for your exact dates before you budget, and see our Orlando theme park tickets guide for where to buy, multi-day tickets and discounts.

Park-by-park profiles

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is the best single park in Orlando for kids aged 3 to 9. It has the castle, the parades and the fireworks, and most of its rides work for little ones. Fewer than ten attractions here carry a height requirement.

  • Signature rides and lands: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (38"), TRON Lightcycle/Run (48"), Space Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (reopened May 3, 2026; guides list its minimum as 38" or 40", so check the sign at the entrance).
  • Under-40" kids: Excellent. Nearly all of Fantasyland plus Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear and Seven Dwarfs (38") work.
  • Price: Magic Kingdom is the priciest Disney park, with a reported top tier of $229 on holiday 2027 dates.
  • Skip the line: Lightning Lane Multi Pass was reported at $29 per person for October 22, 2026 and runs about $15 to $45 depending on the date. TRON and Seven Dwarfs are sold separately as Single Pass, at a reported $10 to $25 per ride.
  • Crowds: The busiest park in Orlando. Arrive at opening, or save the big rides for the evening.
  • Closures and changes: Carousel of Progress is closed for a rework and due back in late spring 2027. Rivers of America is closed for Piston Peak construction.
  • Coming: Piston Peak National Park (Cars Ridge Run Rally and Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along) and Villains Land. Disney has given neither an opening date; fan projections of 2028 to 2030 are speculation.
  • Holiday: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs 25 nights, November 8 to December 22, 2026. Tickets were reported at $189 to $229 for adults, with kids 3 to 9 paying $10 less.
  • Pros: Unmatched for the castle-and-fireworks years.
  • Cons: The highest ticket and Lightning Lane prices. Heavy crowds. Teens may find it babyish.
  • Verdict: Magic Kingdom is a must for under-10s and optional for teen-only groups.

GetYourGuide sells no Walt Disney World park tickets, and the Disney tickets we found on Viator rated under 3 stars, so buy direct from Disney.

EPCOT

EPCOT is the best Disney park for families with kids 8 and up and for food-loving adults. It pairs two big thrill rides with World Showcase’s 11 country pavilions.

  • Signature rides: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (42", 60 mph; Single Pass reported at up to $25), Test Track, Soarin’, Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
  • Under-40" kids: Fair. Frozen, Remy, Nemo, Spaceship Earth and Soarin’ (40") work, but there’s a lot of walking.
  • Time needed: A full day. World Showcase is a 1.2-mile loop.
  • Pros: The best food of any park. Festivals nearly all year. Calmer than Magic Kingdom.
  • Cons: Younger kids get bored in World Showcase.
  • Verdict: A great second Disney day, and a weak first pick for preschoolers.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios is the best park for Star Wars and Toy Story fans aged 6 and up, with several of Disney’s strongest rides in a compact park.

  • Signature rides: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (Single Pass reported at up to $25), Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Slinky Dog Dash (38"), Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets (48", 57 mph, 3 inversions; reopened May 26, 2026), Tower of Terror.
  • Under-40" kids: Moderate. Slinky Dog (38"), Toy Story Mania, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and the new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! show (summer 2026).
  • Coming: Monstropolis (a Monsters, Inc. land). Parts open in 2027 with a theater show and dining. Disney’s first suspended coaster comes later.
  • Holiday: Disney Jollywood Nights runs 15 nights, November 7, 2026 to January 5, 2027. Tickets were reported at $169 to $199, and the party leans toward teens and adults.
  • Pros: Top-tier headliners. Easy to do in a day.
  • Cons: Ongoing construction. Fewer gentle rides than Magic Kingdom.
  • Verdict: A top-three park for ages 7 to 14.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom is the best Disney park for animal lovers and has the cheapest Disney ticket: a reported floor of $119 and a $189 peak, the lowest of the four.

  • Signature rides: Avatar Flight of Passage (Single Pass reported at about $19 to $25), Expedition Everest (44", 50 mph), Kilimanjaro Safaris, Na’vi River Journey.
  • Under-40" kids: Good. The safari, Na’vi River, the trails and the shows all work.
  • Closures: DinoLand U.S.A. has closed for Tropical Americas construction.
  • Coming: Tropical Americas, with Encanto and Indiana Jones attractions, in 2027. No month has been announced.
  • Time needed: 7 to 9 hours. It often closes earlier than the other parks.
  • Verdict: Animal Kingdom is a good-value day. Do the safari early, when the animals are active.

Universal Studios Florida

Universal Studios Florida is best for Harry Potter fans (Diagon Alley) and families with kids 7 and up who love movie-based rides.

  • Signature rides: Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, Revenge of the Mummy (48"), Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, Transformers, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, and the DreamWorks Land kids’ area.
  • Under-40" kids: Fair, with DreamWorks Land as the toddler zone.
  • Price: Reported from about $124. A 1-day park-to-park ticket (Universal Studios + Islands of Adventure, needed to ride the Hogwarts Express) was reported from $179 and excludes Epic Universe.
  • Heads-up: Hogwarts Express is closed on November 4, 2026 (one day). Animal Actors on Location has been reported as closed permanently; Universal’s site has not confirmed it.
  • Holiday: Holidays at Universal runs November 14, 2026 to January 3, 2027, with the Macy’s holiday parade. Mannheim Steamroller’s 2026 dates had not been announced as of September.
  • Verdict: Pair it with Islands of Adventure on a park-to-park ticket. On its own it is a half step behind Islands of Adventure.

GetYourGuide has no Universal Orlando tickets, and the Universal tickets on Viator are resident-only or rated around 3 stars, so buy from Universal directly.

Universal Islands of Adventure

Islands of Adventure is the best theme park in Orlando for thrill-seekers and the best single park for teens. It also has Seuss Landing for little ones.

  • Signature rides: Jurassic World VelociCoaster (51", 70 mph, 4 inversions), Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure (48", 50 mph), Incredible Hulk Coaster (54", 67 mph, 7 inversions), Spider-Man, Hogwarts Express, Seuss Landing.
  • Closure: Jurassic Park River Adventure has been closed since January 5, 2026. It is due back on December 17, 2026, a date already pushed back once from November 20.
  • Holiday: The Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular runs November 14, 2026 to January 3, 2027, included with admission. The Universal Holiday Tour starts at $69.99 plus tax.
  • Pros: The best coaster lineup in Orlando. A beautiful Hogsmeade.
  • Cons: Many headliners need 48" or more. Lots of water rides (bring ponchos).
  • Verdict: Islands of Adventure is a must for ages 10 and up.

Universal Epic Universe

Epic Universe is the most impressive new theme park in Orlando and a strong pick for kids 7 and up. Super Nintendo World alone justifies it for Mario fans. It is good, not great, for preschoolers.

  • Lands: Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Dark Universe.
  • Signature rides: Stardust Racers (48", 62 mph), Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, Mine-Cart Madness (sources list 36" or 40", with a supervising companion under 48"; check Universal’s ride page), Hiccup’s Wing Gliders (40", 45 mph).
  • Price: Reported at $139 to $199 for one day. From 2026, 3-, 4- and 5-day park-to-park tickets include Epic on every day; 1- and 2-day multi-park tickets cap Epic at one separate day.
  • Express: One-use Express only, with no Unlimited tier. Reports this fall put it from $139.99 or from $199.99 per person, so check the price for your date. Premier-hotel free Express does not cover Epic.
  • Location: A separate campus, roughly 15 minutes from the original parks. You can’t walk between them.
  • Is it good for young kids? Yes for kids of 5 and up who reach 40". Celestial Park, Yoshi’s Adventure, Fyre Drill and the play areas help. For under-4s, Magic Kingdom or LEGOLAND give far more rides per hour.

SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando is the best-value major park in Orlando and the most underrated coaster park. Online tickets start at $59.99 for a single day, and Mako, Kraken, Manta, Pipeline and Ice Breaker rival Universal’s lineup.

  • Signature rides: Mako (54", 73 mph, 200 ft), Kraken (54", 65 mph, 7 inversions), Pipeline: The Surf Coaster (54", 60 mph), Manta (54"), Ice Breaker (48"), Penguin Trek (42", 43 mph), Expedition Odyssey Fire & Ice (opened May 25, 2026).
  • Under-40" kids: Good, thanks to Sesame Street Land and the animal exhibits.
  • Price: $59.99 for a single day online. All-Day Dining adds $40. The Ultimate Bundle (ticket + dining + Quick Queue Unlimited) is $169.99. Parking is from $35.
  • Skip the line: Quick Queue Unlimited PLUS starts at $49.99 per person. Penguin Trek and Expedition Odyssey get one-time priority only.
  • Coming: SEAQuest: Legends of the Deep, a Vekoma suspended dark ride. It was announced for 2026, but SeaWorld’s ride page now says only “Coming Soon” with no date; assume early 2027 or later.
  • Verdict: The best thrills-on-a-budget day in Orlando. Lines are routinely shorter than at Disney or Universal.

Neither GetYourGuide nor Viator showed a SeaWorld Orlando ticket listing when we checked in October 2026; seaworld.com sells the $59.99 single-day ticket.

LEGOLAND Florida

LEGOLAND Florida is the best Orlando-area park for kids aged 2 to 10. Almost everything is built for them, lines are short, and it is the cheapest full-size theme park for families.

  • Signature rides: Galacticoaster (opened February 27, 2026; indoor, 40 mph; 36" minimum, and riders under 48" need a companion aged 13 or older who is 48" or taller), LEGO NINJAGO The Ride, The Dragon, Driving School, and DUPLO Valley for toddlers.
  • Price: As of October 2026, kids from $39 and adults from $79 online, an offer that ends November 1, 2026. The LEGOLAND Florida Resort + SEA LIFE Florida 1-Day Admission on GetYourGuide is one price of $74 for everyone 2 and up, rated 4.3/5 from 92 reviews. Annual passes start at $179.
  • Location: Winter Haven, about 45 minutes from the Orlando theme parks and 45 to 60 minutes from I-Drive.
  • Pros: Short waits. Everything sized for kids. Peppa Pig is next door.
  • Cons: Kids of 11 and up outgrow it fast. A long drive.
  • Verdict: Ideal for families with kids under 8. Skip it with teens.

Our LEGOLAND Florida guide covers tickets, Fastrack, every ride by height and the drive.

Peppa Pig Theme Park

Peppa Pig Theme Park is the best Orlando park for toddlers and preschoolers, and the cheapest theme park ticket in the area: $32 online from the park, or $34 on GetYourGuide (4.2/5 from 28 reviews).

  • What it is: A small park with gentle rides, splash pads and Peppa characters, next to LEGOLAND. Under-2s get in free.
  • Time needed: 2 to 4 hours. Combine it with LEGOLAND on a combo ticket.
  • Verdict: Perfect for ages 1 to 5. Kids over 7 will be bored.

Our Peppa Pig Theme Park Florida guide lists every ride and the day plan.

Water parks: Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Volcano Bay, Aquatica, LEGOLAND Water Park

For a late-2026 or early-2027 trip, Blizzard Beach and Aquatica are your realistic water park options.

  • Typhoon Lagoon: Closed since September 9, 2026 for seasonal refurbishment. A spring 2027 reopening is expected, but no date has been announced.
  • Blizzard Beach: Open, and currently the only Disney water park operating.
  • Volcano Bay: Closed from October 26, 2026 until “on or before April 1, 2027.” Easter 2027 is March 28, so don’t count on it for Easter week.
  • Aquatica Orlando: Open, with date-based pricing; check seaworld.com’s Aquatica page for your date.
  • LEGOLAND Water Park: Bundled with LEGOLAND tickets and seasonal; closed after November 1, 2026 until its 2027 season.

Disney water park parking is free.

Discovery Cove, Fun Spot America, Gatorland and Busch Gardens

  • Discovery Cove: An all-inclusive, reservation-only day resort. As of October 2026, discoverycove.com lists the Day Resort Package from $195 per guest (ages 3 and up) and the Signature Dolphin Swim Package from $225 (ages 6 and up); prices change by date. A splurge for animal-loving kids of 6 and up. Neither GetYourGuide nor Viator listed it when we checked.
  • Fun Spot America (Orlando and Kissimmee): Free entry and parking, then pay per ride or buy a pass. The Fun Spot Attractions Theme Parks Admission Ticket on Viator starts at $66 and is rated 4.8/5 from 84 reviews. Kissimmee’s Mine Blower (48", 49 mph) is a real wooden coaster. Good for an evening.
  • Gatorland: A wildlife park with a zip line, not a theme park, but a fun, cheaper half day 15 to 20 minutes from the Disney area. The Gatorland Skip-the-Line Ticket starts at $37 and is rated 4.7/5 from 536 reviews, our Gatorland with kids page has the shows and the zip line rules, and our full Gatorland guide has every ticket and add-on price.
  • Busch Gardens Tampa Bay: About 75 to 90 minutes away and Florida’s best pure coaster park. Iron Gwazi is 48", 76 mph and 206 ft. Kumba closed on August 2, 2026. Busch Gardens announced Kumba’s Revenge on July 14, 2026 as part of what park president Jon Vigue called “our more than $100 million investment,” but no ride type or opening date has been released. SeaWorld’s multi-park tickets bundle it with SeaWorld, Aquatica and Adventure Island; check seaworld.com for the current price. The Busch Gardens tickets on Viator rated under 3 stars, so we don’t link one.

LEGOLAND comes second, with short lines, Galacticoaster from 36" with a companion, and a lower price. SeaWorld works well for animal-loving 6-year-olds.

Cheapest Orlando theme park: Peppa Pig on ticket price. SeaWorld is the cheapest full-size park, and Fun Spot the cheapest for thrills, since entry is free and you pay per ride.

Multi-day and pass math:

  • Universal: A 5-day park-to-park ticket was reported at about $105 per day, and 2026 tickets of 3 or more days include Epic every day.
  • SeaWorld: The 2027 Fun Card is $144.99, and buying it now covers the rest of 2026.
  • LEGOLAND: Annual passes start at $179.
  • Disney: Annual passes top out at a reported $1,749 (Incredi-Pass, up $120). Multi-day per-day prices fall the longer your ticket; check Disney’s calendar for 2026 per-day figures.
  • Florida residents: Disney, Universal, SeaWorld and Fun Spot all run Florida resident discounts. Check each park’s resident page, as the offers rotate.

Accessibility compared

  • Disney, Disability Access Service (DAS): Since 2024 it has been aimed mainly at guests with developmental disabilities who can’t wait in conventional queues. You register by video chat before your trip; check the current rules on Disney’s site.
  • Universal, Attraction Assistance Pass (AAP): Requires pre-registration with IBCCES (the Individual Accessibility Card) before you arrive; check Universal’s current process.
  • SeaWorld Orlando and LEGOLAND Florida: Both have held IBCCES Certified Autism Center status, with quiet spaces and sensory guides; confirm the current status with the park.
  • Rider Switch: Offered at Disney and Universal, and on many SeaWorld and LEGOLAND rides. One adult waits with the child who is too short while the other rides, then they swap.

How to choose: a simple decision flow

  1. Is your youngest under 6? Yes: Magic Kingdom, plus LEGOLAND or Peppa Pig if you have a car. No: go to step 2.
  2. Does anyone love Harry Potter or coasters? Yes: Islands of Adventure, plus Universal Studios on a park-to-park ticket. Add Epic if you have three or more Universal days.

Practical planning notes

  • Early entry: Disney resort guests get 30-minute Early Theme Park Entry, and deluxe guests get Extended Evening Hours on select nights. Universal hotel guests get Early Park Admission, usually one hour, with the eligible parks varying by day. Which hotels add free Express is in our family hotels guide.
  • Park-hopping and getting around: Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are a 10-minute walk apart through CityWalk. Epic Universe is a separate drive or shuttle. EPCOT and Hollywood Studios connect by walkway, boat or Skyliner. Magic Kingdom needs the monorail, ferry or bus. LEGOLAND and Peppa Pig are next door to each other. SeaWorld, Aquatica and Discovery Cove are clustered together.
  • Drive times (typical, no traffic):
    • From I-Drive: about 10 minutes to Universal or SeaWorld, about 20 to 30 minutes to Disney, about 45 to 60 minutes to LEGOLAND.
    • From the Disney area: about 45 minutes to LEGOLAND and about 75 to 90 minutes to Busch Gardens.
  • Parking: Standard parking at Disney, Universal and Epic was reported at about $35, with Disney preferred and Universal Prime at about $50 to $60. Universal’s main garage is free after 6 p.m. on regular nights (not Epic, Halloween Horror Nights or New Year’s Eve). Disney water park parking is free.
  • Weather: Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Afternoon storms close outdoor coasters, so plan the big rides for the morning.
  • Holiday events, late 2026:
    • Disney: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (November 8 to December 22) and Jollywood Nights (November 7 to January 5).
    • Universal: Holidays and Grinchmas (November 14 to January 3).
    • LEGOLAND: Christmas Bricktacular (select dates, November 21 to January 3).
    • SeaWorld: a holiday event runs each winter; check seaworld.com for the 2026 dates.
