Kennedy Space Center: Full-Day Tour with Airboat Safari Ride

About This Experience
You board at one of the listed meeting points in the Kissimmee, Disney, Lake Buena Vista, Universal or International Drive areas, and a driver-guide takes you about an hour east to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Admission is included, along with the bus tour out to the Apollo/Saturn V Center and the Shuttle Launch Experience simulator.
At the complex, kids can walk under the Saturn V rocket, watch a recreated Apollo launch in the firing room theater, stand beneath Space Shuttle Atlantis and hear a veteran astronaut at the daily Astronaut Encounter. Those 44 inches and taller can ride the Shuttle Launch Experience. Later in the day the group meets the bus again for a 30-minute airboat ride on the St. Johns River, looking for alligators, wading birds and swamp plants.
Squeezing both into one day is the catch. Several reviewers ran out of time at the space center and missed the IMAX film or other exhibits, and you must be back at the bus on time for the airboat. Airboats are loud, so small children need ear protection, and wildlife is never guaranteed. It is a working spaceport, so tours can change at short notice, and this trip does not run on launch days. Food and drinks are not included.
Pick it if your kids are about 6 and up, love both rockets and gators, and can handle a full, tightly timed day. Families with toddlers or nappers, or anyone who wants to see all of Kennedy Space Center, will do better with a space center trip on its own and an airboat ride on another day.

- The Shuttle Launch Experience has a 44-inch height minimum. Children under 3 enter the complex free.

Easy to book and instantly received whatsapp with clear instructions for the pick up. Our guide Bonni was great.we were slightly caught up in the space centre but again, great comms via whatsapp so we didnt miss the bus to the airboat ride. Whatsapp connection was perfect for any queries or questions as it was direct with our guide and wifi is free everywhere. Thanks for a great day

A truly unforgettable experience. There is so much to see, and everything is incredibly interesting. The only downside was the long queues, so we ended up seeing much less than we had planned. Still, I highly recommend visiting, and I think one day is simply not enough. The highlight for me was the space flight simulator—it was an amazing experience.

Good trip, but would've done with 1 hour longer at space center

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the airboat too loud for young kids?
Airboats are noisy, so bring ear protection for small children. The ride lasts 30 minutes and most kids love the speed, but noise-sensitive toddlers may struggle.
Will we have enough time at Kennedy Space Center?
It is tight. Several reviewers say they ran out of time and missed the IMAX film or other exhibits. Head for the bus tour to the Saturn V early, then Atlantis.
Can a 4-year-old do this trip?
They can come, but it is a long day. The Shuttle Launch Experience needs children to be 44 inches tall, and Planet Play is a good stop for little ones. Families with toddlers may prefer a space-center-only day.
Are we picked up at our hotel?
No. You meet the bus at one of six listed points around Kissimmee, Disney, Lake Buena Vista, Universal and International Drive.
Will we see alligators?
Often, but not always. The airboat heads onto the St. Johns River where gators live, and sightings of wild animals are never guaranteed.
