Orlando: Wild Florida Park Ticket and Gator Shows

About This Experience
This is the park-only ticket at Wild Florida, the same Lake Cypress site that runs the airboats. You drive down, show your ticket and wander at your own pace between alligator pools, a tropical bird aviary, a petting area and enclosures for animals such as sloths, lemurs, zebras and capybaras. A keeper-led alligator demonstration runs at set times, and the Hawk Swamp boardwalk takes you through a patch of cypress swamp.
It is small enough that little legs can cover it, and most families spend two to three hours. Some ticket options add a hands-on encounter, such as feeding capybaras, and those are the part older kids tend to talk about afterwards. Check which option you are booking, because the basic ticket covers entry and the demonstration only.
The listing calls the area the Central Florida Everglades. Lake Cypress is part of the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, the headwaters of the Kissimmee-Okeechobee-Everglades system, so the swamp you walk through is related to the Everglades but a long way from Everglades National Park.
The honest downsides: it is about 34 miles from the Disney area, much of it is outdoors, and the airboat and the drive-thru safari are separate tickets. If you want a boat ride too, the airboat-plus-park ticket usually makes more sense than buying this and adding a ride on the day.

Our tickets included the capybara encounter. What an experience! Absolutely fantastic. Otherwise, it's a well-organised park where you can easily spend a few hours enjoying yourself!

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this ticket include an airboat ride?
No. It covers the wildlife park and the gator demonstration. Airboat rides are a separate ticket, and every airboat ticket already includes park entry, so book the combo if you want both.
Can my 5-year-old feed the animals?
Under-8s can use the petting zoo and bird aviary, which is what the park recommends for them. The paid sloth and porcupine encounters start at age 8, and lemur and gator feeding at 12.
How long should we plan to stay?
The listing calls it about an hour, but families usually take two to three hours with a show, lunch and the boardwalk. Add an hour each way for the drive from the Disney area.
Is there shade?
Some. The boardwalk runs through cypress swamp and there is a covered playground and misters, but much of the park is in the open. Go in the morning in summer.
